How to Block Popup Ads from Linkbucks links (for Chrome)

If you are like me and click through Linkbucks URLs multiple times a day, and you hate those annoying pop up ads when you click the ‘skip ad’ button, then this tutorial is for you!

What you need:

  • Chrome browser or a compatible browser in the Chromium Project (Comodo Dragon, SRWareTron, etc.)
  • 2-10 minutes

  1. Go to the Chrome WebStore and download JavaScript Popup Blocker. To do this, click “Add to Chrome” and accept any permissions needed. When the popup confirmation shows up, click “Add”.
  2. Next, a page to configure the popup blocker will show up. For simplicity, you may choose the Whitelist option, but that may also block legitimate popups. This is guide, I will use the Blacklist option.Choose the Blacklist option.
  3. Go to the Blacklisted web pages section of the page. Click “Add”.
  4. In the box that shows up, put in the following URL: http://**
You may also want to add the URLs* and http://**
  5. At the bottom of the page, Click the Save option.

Done! You are now blocking those pesky popups when clicking the “Skip Ad” button. You may also add other websites by the method above.

  1. When I originally commented I appear to have clicked the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and
now every time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the same comment.

Is there a way you are able to remove me from that service?

    • Hi,

Unfortunately, I am unable to do that myself. When you receive the email regarding a new comment updated, look at the bottom of the email. There should be an unsubscribe link there.

  2. omg. I can’t believe it. This has worked for me for quite a lot time and now it doesn’t… linkbucks opens a new tab without permission AND my adblock + javascript blocker ARE activated!!! linkbucks is seriously the worst piece of shit ever.
